Meet Mia

Hi! I'm Mia, the creator and girl behind Mia's Craft Kits.

For as long as I can remember, I have always loved to create. It was not only something that was so much fun for me, but something that brought joy and confidence into my life. Growing up, as we all do, I faced challenges left and right. Through all of them, crafting was the one constant that could cheer me up, get my mind off things, and give me something to look forward to.

Being a collegiate softball player at UC Davis was one of my biggest dreams. When I made the decision to step away from the sport, I felt like I was leaving a huge part of myself behind. It was one of the hardest decisions of my life. My mental health was at an all-time low, and after leaving the team, I lost the sense of community and identity that had surrounded me for so long.

During this time, I realized just how important mental health, community, and creativity were in my life.

Then came the idea for Mia's Craft Kits.

I wanted to create an easy, on-the-go creative outlet that could give other people some of the same things crafting had always given me: a chance to slow down, get my mind off everything else, create something I was proud of, and just have fun.

But I also wanted it to be about more than the craft itself.

Mia's Craft Kits is about creating moments. It's crafting with your friends around the kitchen table, bringing a kit along on a girls' trip, making something with your family, or spending a quiet night at home doing something just for yourself. You don't have to be "creative" or know what you're doing. You just have to be willing to try.

My hope is to build the kind of community that I once felt like I had lost—a place where people can connect, create, and feel good about themselves along the way.

Mia's Craft Kits is still just getting started, and so am I. I'm learning as I go, dreaming up new (and big) ideas, and figuring out what this business can become. But I know that I want it to bring people together and give others an easy way to add a little more creativity and joy into their lives.

So whether you're here to find your next craft, spend some quality time with your favorite people, or just need a creative escape for a little while, I'm so happy you're here.
